The pound/dollar fell more than 0.40% on Friday as geopolitical tensions triggered capital flows to the dollar's safe-haven position. Israel launched an attack on Iran, escalating the conflict in the Middle East. The pair traded close to 1.3550 after hitting the annual high of 1.3631.

In the short term, the lowest pound/USDThe resistance path may continue to decline due to risk aversion. Furthermore, differences between central banks will benefit the dollar, as Fed officials take a more neutral to restrictive stance.

GBP/USD Price Forecast: Technical Outlook
While GBP/USD hit a two-day low of 1.3515, the pair may consolidate in the near term. However, buyers buy when they fall and push the pair up with a target of 1.36. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) remained bullish, but was close to the 50 neutral line, indicating that buyers were breathing.
If GBP/USD breaks through 1.3600, the next resistance level will be the year-on-year high of 1.3631, followed by 1.37. On the contrary, if the pair falls below 1.3550, the door will be opened to challenge 1.3500.
