XM foreign exchange market: US President Trump is extremely dissatisfied with the Federal Reserve's monetary policy and often criticizes the Federal Reserve and Powell in public. Yesterday, Trump said on social media that prices in the United States are falling, such as energy, groceries, etc., and the Federal Reserve should follow the example of the ECB's interest rate cut. Trump once again called Fed Chairman Powell "Mr. Too Chi", suggesting that his view of not cutting interest rates is not good for the US economy.
The rise and fall of the US dollar is mainly affected by the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, which is based on economic data. Powell has repeatedly emphasized that whether a interest rate cut depends on the core economic data of the United States in the future, such as CPI, PCE, unemployment rate, etc. Only when the data surface shows signs of worsening will interest rate cuts be restarted. From the technical trend, since January 14, the pound has been in the upward channel, and the crimson line in the figure is a more reliable channel line. After the pound followed the dollar's sharp drop on Monday,The lowest hit 1.3139, which is around the 0.382 golden ratio and overlaps with the lower track of the crimson channel, making it very likely to start a rebound. Coupled with US President Trump's criticism of the Fed, the US dollar was negative, and the pound rebounded sharply yesterday, reaching a high of 1.3314, narrowing the distance from the previous high. Judging from the rules of the channel line, this round of rebound may move towards the crimson upper cabinet.

From the bond yield perspective, the UK's three-month Treasury bond yield is 4.32%, higher than the half-year 4.24%, which is inverted, which means that the Bank of England will cut interest rates again between 3 and 6 months. The interest rate cut is bearish on the pound, but GBPUSD's trend is still dominated by the US dollar and the Federal Reserve.
